THE FUTURE OF RYSC'S MARINA

We are pleased to announce that the construction of the breakwater project is now completed. With the completion of the project, we are experiencing calmer waters around our berths especially during high tides and strong wind conditions within the marina. The improved conditions in the wet berths are attracting more interested boaters to relocate their boats and berth at RSYC.

We are eagerly anticipating the extension of our pontoons to accommodate even more boats and the new additional berths are expected to be ready by 1st Quarter 2018 to welcome new boats. Meanwhile, we still have limited number of existing berths available. So, please make reservations with us now to avoid disappointment! Priority is given based on a "first reserved, first served" basis.


We are proud to be a member of Marina Industries Association (MIA) and is preparing for the Gold Anchor Scheme, an marina industry recognised award. RSYC will be upgrading the Marina facilities in order to meet the stringent industry standards and offer the best services to all boaters.

Coming up, we will have a boaters' night in Mid April 2018 where we will share more exciting news about our upcoming Marina plans. Do keep a look out for the actual date of the event will be announce soon!

Wet berths are now available for boats from 45 ft (13.7m) to 70ft (21.3m)!

For boats 80ft (24.3M) in length, the berths will be available in 2nd quarter of 2018!

SISTERS' ISLANDS MARINE PARK

SISTERS' ISLANDS MARINE PARK

 

With effect from 20 Nov 2017, the waters around Sisters’ Islands, and along the western reefs of both St John’s Island and Pulau Tekukor, also known as Sisters’ Islands Marine Park, are demarcated for the conservation of marine organisms and designated as a marine park .

The Big Sister's Island (Pulau Subar Laut) is open to the public from 7am to 7pm on a daily basis. All other areas within the Sisters' Islands Marine Park (Small Sister's Island and the reefs along the western coast of St John's Island and Pulau Tekukor) will be zoned strictly for conservation and research, and will not be open to the public.

Boaters are also reminded to ensure continued compliance with the provisions of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (Port) Regulations, when transiting within the waters of the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park. 

 PLAY YOUR PART IN PROTECTING THE BIODIVERSITY IN THE MARINE PARK!

You can play a part in the conservation of Singapore’s first marine park by :

  • Not fishing or poaching
  • Not feeding wild animals
  • Not releasing animals in the park
  • Keeping the park smoke-free

Dear Members/Boaters,

It has been brought to our attention thru multiple feedbacks as well as our observation that the fuel dock is now used to embark/disembark passengers. The purpose of the fuel dock is for refuelling solely and should not be a pick up/drop off point for any boaters especially more so for charter/fishing boats.

Please refrain from using the dock for any other purposes but fuelling for everyone’s safety as well as convenience of being able to take on fuel without congestion. All embarkation/disembarkation should be at Lay By for Dry Stacker Boats and at the Berth for Wet Berth Boats. We seek everyone’s cooperation in making RSYC an EXCELLENT Club for all.

Recently, it has been noted a spike in boats speeding in/out of our marina which causes damages to the structure as well as discomfort to fellow boaters. In worse situations, it could cause a “Man over Board” to unsuspecting boaters or staff alike. In order to prevent this, we wish to remind all boats entering/exiting our marina to adhere to the policy of “No Wake Zone”.

SECURITY PROCEDURES FOR CHARTER VISITORS / GUESTS

Dear Members,

 

The Club, in its efforts in ensuring everyone’s safety and security, is stepping up security measures of visitors / guests visiting the Club for the purpose of boat charter / fishing charter.

BOAT CHARTER & FISHING CHARTER

  1. With immediate effect, boat owners and/or captains conducting trips, will be required to submit their passenger manifest and crew list 24 hours prior to departure.
  2.  Subsequently, upon arrival of their visitors / guests, boat owners and/or captains are to ensure that their visitors / guests register at the security post and assemble at the tentage area next to the security post for the boat owner or captain to  personally escort them to their boat.
  3. Visitors / guests joining the boat charter / fishing charter arriving via private mode of transportation and taxis are to disembark at the security checkpoint, register themselves at the security post and assemble at the waiting area.
  4. Taxis will not be allowed to disembark these visitors / guests at the main Club entrance or lobby.
  5. Likewise, on return, boat owners and/or captains will have to personally escort the visitors / guests back to the security post again, where they will then be checked out of the Club.

FAILURE OF ADHERENCE TO PROCEDURES

Failure to adhere and comply with the above procedures will result in the Club exercising its rights to refuse entry to the visitors / guests joining the boat charter / fishing charter.

1) Wet Berth – $1000.00

2) Dry Berth –  $500.00

 

The deposit for existing members on the list will be automatically charged to their respective accounts unless otherwise instructed

to withdraw their names from the lists. Prospective members applying for berthing at the Marina will also be required to place their

deposits together with their application.

The buggy operations policy has been revised (as per below) with effect from 10 Jan 2017.

 

UTILITY 1 (CARRY ALL)

1. MAXIMUM PASSENGER CAPACITY – 1 driver and 3 passengers including children

2. MAXIMUM CARGO LOAD – 150kg (Max. of 4 Dive Tanks)

3. STRICTLY NO PASSENGERS ALLOWED ON THE CARGO BED

4. USAGE OF BUGGY BY GUEST/S – Member / Captain MUST occupy a seat on the buggy and accompany the guest/s during the buggy transfer

5. ALL TRIPS REQUESTED ARE LIMITED TO 1 TRANSFER – Any additional transfers will be allowed based on elderly passengers, expecting mothers, small children; and subject to the discretion of the buggy operator.

 

TRANSPORTER 2 (PASSENGER CARRIER)
1. MAXIMUM PASSENGER CAPACITY – 1 driver and 5 passengers including children

2. MAXIMUM CARGO LOAD – 150kg (only light bags allowed). Strictly no cargo / equipment allowed.

3. USAGE OF BUGGY BY GUEST/S – Member / Captain MUST occupy a seat on the buggy and accompany the guest/s during the buggy transfer.

4. ALL TRIPS REQUESTED ARE LIMITED TO 1 TRANSFER – Any additional transfers will be allowed based on elderly passengers, expecting mothers, small children; and subject to the discretion of the buggy operator.

Have you ever wondered how the Club and its surroundings would look like from high up in the air?

 

Well, here are some photos showing the Clubhouse, rooftop tennis court and marina against a backdrop of the mesmerizing sunset.

 

ROOFTOP TENNIS COURT

As part of our continuing efforts to provide value to the Club membership, members of RSYC will now be able to have a game (or two) of tennis at the Club’s new rooftop tennis court.

This latest addition to the Club – a standard sized recreational tennis court – has a 15cm thick, two-tiered surface made of high impact polypropylene for better playability.

 

High nettings around the court ensures that tennis balls don’t fly out to the ground or marina; and six metal halide lighting of 1K watts each will provide sufficient lighting for better visibility during night time.

REVISED PROCEDURES FROM 1 APRIL 2016 FOR PLEASURE CRAFTS & YACHT SEEKING IMMIGRATION CLEARANCE AT GAZETTED ANCHORAGES & MARINAS IN SINGAPORE

"With effect from 1 April 2016, boaters, owners, marina operators of pleasure crafts/yachts seeking immigration clearance are required to submit the arrival and departure notice as well as requests for crew related facilities online via the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority’s COMPUTERIZATION OF RECORDS FOR CREW (CREW) Clearance System.

 

The current procedure of submission of advance notification of arrival or departure prior to the arrival or departure of the pleasure crafts/yachts at the designated anchorages remains unchanged. However, under the revised procedure, all submission MUST be done via CREW Clearance System online.

 

Boaters/owners can register for a CREW System Account with ICA Coastal Command if you meet the requirements. You may also engage a shipping company or marina operator registered with ICA to submit the application on your behalf."

With regards to the above extract from the circular received from the ICA, the Club is exploring the option of subscribing to the CREW system.


In the meantime, boating members and visiting yachts planning to leave or arrive to Singapore MUST engage a shipping agent to notify the ICA prior to their arrival at the anchorage for immigration clearance.

SISTERS’ ISLANDS MARINE PARK

SISTERS’ ISLANDS MARINE PARK

The Sisters’ Islands Marine Park is a new initiative by NParks, announced in June 2014 that aims to give members of the public a first-hand experience of Singapore’s rich marine biodiversity. Through this initiative, Singapore’s first marine park had been established to protect Singapore’s coral reefs, which support an ecosystem inhabited by rare and endangered species of seahorses, clams, sponges and other marine life. The marine park will be a platform for outreach, educational, conservation and research activities related to our native marine biodiversity.


WHERE IS THE MARINE PARK?

The Sisters’ Islands Marine Park spans about 40 hectares around Sisters' Islands and along the western reefs of both St John's Island and Pulau Tekukor. The location was chosen due to its variety of habitats including coral reefs, sandy shores and seagrass areas.


WHAT’S GOING ON AT THE MARINE PARK?

Members of the public can participate in the following activities at the Sisters’ Island Marine Park:

 
Learn about Singapore’s marine biodiversity at Sisters’ Islands – Marine Park Public GalleryThe Gallery features the rich marine biodiversity in Singapore’swaters and provides an overview of the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park, including a 3D diorama of its dive trails.

 

Dive at Singapore’s first Dive Trail – Divers will be guided through 20 stations marked by signs which will bring their attention to the variety of marine biodiversity andreef features present in Singapore’s waters. Divers can also contribute towards the upkeep of the dive trails, for example by helping to sweep off accumulated algae on the station signboards using cleaning brushes.

 

Experience the marine biodiversity during the Intertidal Guided Walks – Members of the public can see the shore teeming with marine life during intertidal guided walks conducted by experienced nature guides from April onwards.


A range of other outreach programmes will also be rolled out to encourage greater appreciation of Singapore’s natural heritage.

INDONESIA OPENS ITS EXTENSIVE SEAS FOR YACHTS/BOATS TO EXPLORE WONDERFUL INDONESIA

Great news for all boaters crossing over to Indonesian waters. In a move to further boost Indonesia’s marine tourism across this archipelago, boaters entering Indonesian waters by will be free and unrestricted. The new policy includes the liberalisation of CIQP (Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Port Clearance), while the Greenbook, Sailing Permit or CAIT (Clearance Approval for Indonesia Territory) will no longer be required. It is however mandatory for vessels/boats to be fitted with a working IMO-approved AIS Class A/B to enter and cruise in Indonesian waters. A copy of the document showing the MMSI / AIS identity would be required to be presented to the Indonesian authorities.


Yachts/boats intending to enter Indonesian waters and/or cruise to Nongsa must fill up two forms for each visit:

Due to the increase of boating activities in recent months, it has been observed that the boat washing bays have become more congested.


Please be reminded to adhere to the Club policy on the use of boat washing bays – which allows a member to have their boat on the washing bay cradlefor one hour to complete the washing.


Beyond which, the boat will be lifted away and the cradle vacated, to allow other members to make use of the washing bay.
