Keelboat Sailing Courses
Learn how to sail on a keelboat. As part of our efforts to promote sailing, we are offering sailing courses for both adults and children. Courses suitable for adults include: Competent Crew Course(Beginners), Day Skipper Course to become a Keelboat skipper.

Competent Crew Course
The Competent Crew Course is an introductory crew training course that teaches the basics of sailing onboard a sailing yacht.  Upon successful completion of this course the sailors and participants will have sufficient knowledge and skills to be an able crew member on any sailing yacht.

Suitable for both the complete beginner and those who have some experience of either dinghy sailing or cruising.

Requirements: 16 years old and above. Able to swim for 50 meters.
Duration: 1 Saturday and 2 Sundays (21 hours)

Day Skipper Course
The Day Skipper Course at RSYC provides training for anyone wishing to become a cruising skipper on their own or to charter a sailboat to sail around the costal waters of Singapore and neighboring countries.

Requirements: 17 years and above, Competent crew course or equivalent and PPCDL.
Duration: 2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays (26 hours)

Dinghy Sailing Course
Specifically designed for first time sailors, this introduction to singled-handed dinghy sailing course covers basic sailing techniques, rope works, rigging and launching boats, capsize recovery and on-water safety tips.

Topper Sailing Course
Learn how to sail Topper in two days. Basic sailing techniques, boat handling, rope work and sailing theory are some topics covered. Course fee includes first month Saturdays' training sessions.

Optimist Sailing for Children (Beginner's Course)
Learn how to sail the Optimist in two days. Basic sailing techniques, boat handling, rope work and sailing theory are some topics covered. Course fee includes first month Saturdays' afternoon training sessions.

Sailing Practices
After completing the basic course, sailors are encouraged to continue sailing with the weekly Saturday training sessions.
